About
Fran Chandler
Fran Chandler teaches yoga and meditation, and coaches people through the parts of health that don't show up on a scale. She's been doing this work for over a decade, in studios and living rooms and, more than once, over a kitchen table with a cup of tea going cold. Here and Now is the book she wishes she'd had earlier — not because it would have fixed anything overnight, but because it might have saved her a few years of trying to rush what can't be rushed.
She came to this work the way most people do: because her own life needed it first. Fran spent years moving fast — through a career, through motherhood, through the general noise of trying to keep up — before she noticed that most of her stress wasn't really about what was happening. It was about how rarely she was actually present for any of it. Yoga and meditation didn't fix that overnight. They just gave her somewhere to practice standing still.
These days, Fran teaches the same slow, unglamorous work to her students, and to her own kids, who are just as unimpressed by the idea of sitting quietly as most people are. She still doesn't have it all figured out. But she's stopped expecting to, and that's mostly the point.
Her approach
Three things Fran keeps coming back to
Mindfulness
Fran doesn't teach mindfulness as a fix for stress — she teaches it as a practice of paying attention. Most of her work starts with noticing what's already true, before trying to change anything.
Gentle movement
Yoga, in Fran's classes, isn't about flexibility or performance. It's a way back into the body — a slow, physical way of remembering you have one.
Presence
The brand's name isn't a slogan to Fran. It's the actual instruction: come back to right here, right now, as many times as it takes.
"I used to think I'd feel present once everything else was handled. It turns out everything else is never handled. You just have to start here, now, with whatever this is." Fran Chandler
